Q&A Corner – Counter Tops

Q: Is granite my only option when upgrading my kitchen countertops?

A:  Absolutely not!  There are many other options for your countertops that will still increase resale value and sometimes even be easier to maintain.  Quartz is a great option for families with small children.  It is a non-porous material that will not allow bacteria to grow and spread to little fingers.  Another great option is to go ’green’.  Countertops are now being made out of recycled glass bottles and even recycled paper!  These paper countertops extremely hard and impervious to water.  They are also maintained in a similar way to granite, a quick seal with a natural wax finish every few years maintains their satin sheen.

This kitchen showcases resin counter tops with recycled buttons in shades of brown to complement the Modern Spanish interiors.

  1. I have noticed that most home owners would want to have “Granite” instal in their kitchen, but some how assume “Granite” is costly without even checking with local companies. If you know of a great idea to break this view please let me know.
